  • Teeth Cleaning to clear away any plaque buildup which can lead to cavities & gingivitis
  • Gum Evaluation to reduce your risk for periodontal (gum) disease
  • Dental X-rays to keep track of changes and improve treatment planning accuracy
  • Dental Consultation to go over any issues or questions you may have
  • Treatment Planning to resolve any issues and for long-term care

Dental Hygiene Appointments

Teeth cleanings are essential to preventive dentistry and long-term oral health.  Your 6-month check-up can save you time, money and pain in the long-term.

Don’t wait until you have tooth pain or swollen gums to see a dentist.  We like to see our patients in our Exton dental office at least every 6 months to avoid problems that can lead to a toothache.

During your dental check-up appointment, one of our friendly dentists or dental hygienists will perform the teeth cleaning. This involves removing any tartar or plaque left in areas difficult to reach with routine daily brushing.

During the cleaning process various instruments are used to perform tooth scaling, tooth polishing and debridement (removal of plaque and calculus that have accumulated on the teeth). These standard procedures remove hard and soft deposits which prevent gum disease and cavities from occurring.

If it’s been 2 years or more since you had oral x-rays done, we will request you get the images taken at this appointment.  The up-to-date oral x-rays are a tool the dentist uses to help keep track of your oral health.  If you have an issue in your mouth, the dentist will use the x-rays to diagnose and make a most appropriate treatment plan for you.

More reasons regular dental cleanings are important:
